The Fourth Annual Law Women Summit
Mandate 2016 : Economic Equality through Public Policy

This year's all-day event, Mandate 2016, focused on public policy solutions to the barriers that prevent women from fully contributing to and benefiting from America's economy. Women face higher incidences of poverty at all ages, unequal caregiving burdens, lower labor force participation and wages, and limited access to traditional forms of commercial lending. Our keynote speaker, Caroline Fredrickson of the American Constitution Society, is a national expert on the history of gendered labor discrimination and will share lessons learned from the policy trenches. The summit's three panels discussed how to use the tax code to reduce inequality, solutions to the ongoing crisis of unequal pay, and ways to lessen the number of challenges women face in accessing capital.
