Xavier Duportet - Biological robots for our health - Meet-Up - Dassault Systèmes. Xavier Duportet discovered his first molecule (a powerful fungicide) in New Zealand at the age of 20 and, one year later, won the iGEM International Foundational Research Prize. When he was 24, he created his first start-up; today he is 28.
Xavier Duportet went on to be awarded a PhD in Synthetic Biology from MIT and INRIA (the French Institute for Research in Computer Science and Automation). In 2015, MIT named him Innovator of the Year for his research on new-generation antibiotics. Xavier Duportet is also the founder and CEO of Hello Tomorrow, a non-profit organization which runs an international start-up challenge for technology businesses.
